Jill Thorp

Owner, Jillbee Delivers

Jill’s passion for the food business began when, as a young girl, she delivered produce with her Grandma Vi to local Los Gatos restaurants. Her grandmother taught her to love the quality of fresh produce. “Taste this,” her grandmother would say, offering a freshly picked strawberry, an apple straight off the tree, a carrot still warm from the ground. “This is the best.”

Jill went on to study at The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, Napa, and has been a culinary professional for over 30 years. Her professional adventures took her to a role at the exclusive Villa Madeleine Resort in St. Croix, becoming the private chef on the Baron Von Hilton’s yacht and the personal chef for the founder of ASK computer.

Jill started Jillbee Delivers in 2007 when she decided there wasn’t anywhere in Los Gatos to get a really great, fresh salad. She set out to deliver farm-fresh, innovative, and house-made salads and meals. The idea quickly became popular, and soon Jillbee Delivers was serving fresh lunches to some of Silicon Valley's best known companies.

Born and raised in Calabria, Italy, Chef D'Oria developed his passion for food at a very early age surrounded by the gastronomy of Italy; the belief in the importance of food’s seasonality and simplicity, a tradition which spans generations.

His culinary career started in his family's kitchen, took him across Italy, then to London, South Africa and eventually to California, where he currently resides. He developed and managed the food program at Bodega Bay’s Inn at the Tides, including wine dinners, resort service and restaurants. From that adventure he moved to the corporate food service world and joined Jillbee Delivers in 2024.

Chef D'Oria enjoys fusing the finest of organic, local and regional products to return to a healthier rustic cuisine, and believes the most important ingredient in any recipe is love. In his time off, Chef D'Oria spends his days exploring his newer found home for culinary delights, cooking for his family and teaching his children the importance of simple and seasonal food.
